This week’s preview of the upcoming Hic & Hoc unsolved mysteries anthology comes to us from David Allan Duncan. Duncan is a former SCAD professor of mine and a pretty cool dude. I’m more used to seeing him critique other people’s work that show off his own, so I was excited to receive a submission from him. His comic tells the story of the mysterious disappearance of the remains of Addie Mae Collins, one of the victims of the 1963 Birmingham, AL 16th Street Baptist Church bombing:

Duncan put up a few process images of this story on his blog, which are always fun to look at. His process looks remarkably like my process – which is made up mostly of small layout sketches and lots of text, arrows, and crossed-out things.
