CAKE Next Weekend!

Hey Chicagolanders! I am super excited to say that I will be back in Illinois next weekend to attend the Chicago Alternative Comics Expo (CAKE). This is exciting for many reasons, not least of which being it’s a great excuse to come home and see all my Chicago friends. But also! The entire time I lived in Chicago, I complained about how there wasn’t a good indie comics show in the city but, lo! Here comes one now!

Possibly the best part about CAKE is that it is free to the public. That’s right! Free! So you should definitely all come check it out. Still not convinced? Well then go read this awesome lineup of creators who are coming. It’s really an impressive list. There’s a whole mess of people whose work I admire that I’ve never had the chance to meet before, so I’m pretty excited. But maybe talking to creators isn’t your thing… Perhaps you’d prefer to sit in a room and have the comics people come talk at you. Well, you’re in luck. CAKE has an equally impressive panel schedule that you can go listen to. In addition to all this, there are related events going on around Chicago all weekend, including a couple art shows and an open house at Spudnik Press. So, in short – come to CAKE. It’s going to be awesome and you’ll have a great time. I know I will. If you do come to the show, come find me! I’ll be selling minicomics and chatting with folks over at Table 14:
